Amazon Increases U.S. Core Operations Worker Pay by $1/Hour

Amazon is increasing the minimum starting pay for U.S. core operations workers to $20 per hour, with an average hourly pay of $24, representing a $1/hour raise. The company also introduced new benefits including a low-cost banking system, grocery discounts, and expanded healthcare coverage, investing over $1.5 billion in these initiatives.

Amazon's investment in these raises comes out to over $1.5 billion, or about 0.06% of its $2.68 trillion market cap.
