Google's Largest Rice-Methane Carbon Credit Agreement with Mitti Labs

Google has entered a 4-year agreement to buy 1 million carbon credits from Indian startup Mitti Labs, targeting methane reduction in rice farming through AI-driven monitoring. The project aims to cut emissions by 50% and water use by 40% while supporting Google's net-zero goals.

The four-year agreement will cover rice farms across three Indian states, reaching about 100,000 hectares at peak delivery.
