U.S. Regulators Explore Safety Standards for Electronic Door Handles in Vehicles

U.S. regulators are initiating a rule-making process to address safety concerns related to electronic door handle designs in vehicles, following incidents of occupant entrapment. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will gather data and public input to determine if mandatory emergency egress systems are needed for all automakers.
