A cyberattack on McKesson's cloud systems by the ShinyHunters hacking group exposed millions of patient records through phishing tactics, with hackers demanding a $55 million ransom. The breach compromised sensitive health data, including personal identifiers and medical information, marking another major incident in a series targeting healthcare organizations.

The company, which distributes medicines and medical devices to hospitals and healthcare practices across the U.S., said it was hacked and expects intermittent service degradation.
