Neural Mechanisms of Simultaneous Speech Stream Encoding in Human Cortex During Attention Switching
This study uses EEG to demonstrate that the human brain can simultaneously encode two competing speech streams during attention switching, revealing asymmetric neural disengagement and engagement processes. The findings highlight temporal and contextual mechanisms underlying auditory attention shifts, suggesting a lexical context reset after attention switches.
